Product Overview

Controlled nitrogen support for rumen microbes.

ADDIFERM N combines feed urea with fat and dextrose through a proprietary coating process. The manufacturer states that coating supports slow and continuous nitrogen availability in the rumen. It is intended for high-energy TMRs, particularly maize-silage-based rations requiring additional ruminal nitrogen.

Nutrition and application focus

  • Supplementation of ruminal nitrogen balance
  • Dextrose provides energy support for microbial growth
  • Non-protein nitrogen use in energy-rich TMRs
Manufacturer Feeding Guidance
  • English brochure: approximately 50–160 g/animal/day for transition and high-yielding dairy cows.
  • Approximately 50–140 g/animal/day for fattening bulls, young ruminating animals and heifers.
  • Feed only to animals with a developed rumen and increase the dose gradually. Ration formulation must account for total urea and nitrogen across the complete diet.

From the manufacturer’s official website

The official product page explicitly states 850 g/kg urea. Coating with fat and dextrose is the formulation approach for slower nitrogen availability in the rumen. Use only in animals with a developed rumen and introduce gradually.

Technical note

The 248% value is crude protein equivalent from NPN, not a true protein percentage. The sheet does not separately specify the basis of its g and MJ entries; these are reproduced as stated. Limits for 100% urea in the brochure must not be interpreted as ADDIFERM N product doses.
